Alumni & Events Officer

Gates Cambridge Scholarships are prestigious, highly competitive full-cost scholarships. They are awarded to outstanding applicants from countries outside the UK to pursue a full-time postgraduate degree in any subject available at the University of Cambridge.

The Gates Cambridge Trust is seeking to appoint an Alumni & Events Officer who will be responsible for implementing and managing all operational aspects of its Alumni Relations Strategy and also oversee a number of events (for both current Scholars and Alumni) throughout the year.

The role, which will be full time, is relatively new (one previous, part-time role holder) so the successful candidate will need to be flexible in their approach and help develop the role to fit the needs of Gates Cambridge and its alumni.

Given the desired level of coordination with the University, the role holder will be employed and based at the Gates Cambridge Office, but will interact regularly with the University’s Development and Alumni Relations Office (on Quayside, just across the road from the Gates Cambridge office), where they will have access to a team of alumni relations professionals. The role holder will be line-managed by the Gates Cambridge Provost, but will work closely with the Gates Cambridge Programme Director on a day-to-day basis.

The salary will be based on Grade 6 of the University’s single salary spine (between point 1 at £27,629 and point 4 at £30,175).Further particulars are available from the box on this page.

Full details about the Gates Cambridge Scholarships are available from www.gatescambridge.org.

Interviews will be on the afternoon of Wednesday 10 May.

Applications should include a cover letter, current curriculum vitae and the names of two referees and be sent to jobs@gatescambridge.org. Please also ensure you complete the short basic information form.

The deadline for submitting an application is 4pm on Friday 21 April 2017.
