Employment: MHRA Postdoctoral Research Scholar : University of Cambridge
I studied Italian Literature and Philology at the University of Pisa and at the Scuola Normale Superiore, where I completed a new edition of Francesco da Buti's commentary on Dante's «Inferno». My main areas of interest are: Dante; the ancient commentaries tradition; the Classical tradition; the medieval commentary tradition perceived and explored as a specific genre. In my current research, I am bringing Buti's commentary new edition to completion by also editing the glosses to «Purgatorio» and «Paradiso», with particular attention to the sources used by the commentator. Together with Ambrogio Camozzi, I am working on the critical edition of the vernacular version of the life of Alexander the Great kept in MS Kraków, Jagiellonian Library, Ital. Quart. 33. The edition will be published in 2016. Whilst at Cambridge, I have published several articles on Medieval Italian Language, on Dante, and on the way in which Dante’s commentators re-elaborate their sources.
