Atticus DeProspo, 23, United States, received his B.S. degree in Industrial & Labor Relations from Cornell University in May 2015, graduating with honors. He wrote his senior honor thesis on LGBTQ inclusion in collegiate athletics. He was a member of the Cornell Varsity Men's Soccer Team for four years, helping them win an Ivy League Title in fall 2012. Atticus is a co-founder and student-athlete representative on the LGBT committee for the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). Previously, he worked in Florida and Washington D.C. as an intern for Senator Marco Rubio. Atticus also interned at the Supreme Court of the United States in 2015. Atticus was a member of the inaugural class of the Schwarzman Scholars Program, where he pursued a Master of Management in Global Affairs at Tsinghua University in Beijing. Atticus wishes to pursue a career as a public servant in the federal government and as an inclusion ambassador for professional sport leagues. He is honored to be joining the Gates Cambridge community, made up of scholars working to improve society all around the world.
