I studied Medicine at the Byramjee Jeejeebhoy Government Medical College and trained at the Sassoon General Hospital — both in Pune, India (2009).

I hold an MPH degree in Epidemiology from the University of Texas at Houston in the United States (2012) and a PhD in Public Health and Primary Care from the University of Cambridge (2017). I worked as a research assistant at Houston’s MD Anderson Cancer Center while studying for the MPH and since then my research has focused on cancer and its genetic epidemiology. I was elected to the first Junior Research Fellowship for Clinical Medicine at Homerton College while still a PhD student, which enabled me to perform further postdoctoral research on cancer genetics at the Strangeways Research Laboratory.
