Ramit Debnath is a Gates-Cambridge Scholar at the University of Cambridge. He is affiliated to the Energy Policy Research Group at the Cambridge Judge Business School and the Behaviour and Building Performance Group at the Martin Centre of Architecture and Urban Studies. He uses data science to inform public policy which addresses energy justice and sustainable development issues in low-income communities. He has a background in electrical engineering and sustainability sciences. He previously held research positions at Stanford University, USA, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, India and Ben Gurion University of the Negev, Israel. He also had research-based industry collaboration with the National Thermal Power Plant Limited in India, the International Energy Agency in France and several think-tanks. Ramit had received research grants and fellowships from Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, National Science Foundation Singapore, Santander Group, Commonwealth Scholarship Commission, Issacs Newton Trust and Ministry of Human Resource Development India.
