Florence Nabwire is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the MRC Nutrition and Bone Health Research (NBH) Group led by Prof Ann Prentice, and a visiting worker at the MRC Epidemiology Unit, University of Cambridge, UK. Her current research investigates the influence of diet, nutrition and HIV status during pregnancy and lactation in relation to bone health in African women and their children, especially in Uganda. The research is based on a 3-year prospective cohort study that she set-up in Uganda during her PhD. Florence is a nutritionist with pre-doctoral working experience in nutrition programming, health systems strengthening and nutrition care in the context of HIV/AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa.
