I grew up in Michigan with family ties to East Tennessee and Northern Bihar. Witnessing climate disasters across these seemingly disparate places showed me that all over the world, those who are the least responsible for climate change are the most vulnerable to its impacts. As an undergraduate at Yale University, I studied how global environmental history has shaped the inequitable distribution of modern climate risks. At Cambridge, I will critically examine transnational climate litigation as a possible tool for redress. I look forward to learning alongside fellow Gates-Cambridge scholars who share my passion for tackling global problems like climate change and improving the lives of those most affected.
