Since leaving Cambridge, I have worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Dartmouth College, and now at the San Diego Zoo's Institute for Conservation Research. My dissertation research focused on how populations of corvids (birds in the crow family) respond with learning to human-induced changes in the environment. My current work applies my research background to help conserve the critically endangered Hawaiian crow. More broadly I am interested in how areas of animal cognition and behaviour can be utilized in conservation contexts, and have been championing the integration of these fields.
