Reid Lidow is a third-year J.D. student at Yale Law School. He is the co-author of Permacrisis (2023) with Gordon Brown, Mohamed El-Erian, and Michael Spence, a book examining global crises and the forces shaping a fractured world. Previously, he served as Executive Officer to the Mayor of Los Angeles, where he advised Mayor Eric Garcetti and, during the COVID-19 pandemic, led the team drafting the Mayor’s nightly briefings. Earlier, he worked for former Prime Minister Gordon Brown on matters spanning global finance and international development. Reid holds a B.A. from the University of Southern California and an MPhil in Development Studies from the University of Cambridge, where he was a Gates Scholar.
