Dr Holly Tilbrook has been appointed Interim Director of Gates Cambridge.

Currently Deputy Director in the Academic Centres Division at the University of Cambridge, Dr Tilbrook joins Gates Cambridge in August following a diverse career at the University of Cambridge.

She describes herself as “the classic generalist administrator”. Starting in the Faculty of Classics in 2008, she has enjoyed roles in Education and Student Policy, the School of Physical Sciences, the Business Information Team and the Institute of Continuing Education. She was a Fellow at Newnham College, Cambridge, between 2018 and 2022.

She says: “Prior to coming to Cambridge, I pursued graduate study in Scotland and Canada as a Carnegie PhD Scholar, so I am joining Gates Cambridge appreciative of the impact philanthropy can make and the importance of access to funding.”

Eilis Ferran, Provost of Gates Cambridge, said: “We are delighted to welcome Dr Tilbrook to the role of Interim Director. She joins at a very important time for Gates Cambridge as we approach our 25th anniversary. We know we will benefit from her wide experience at the university to steer us through this landmark point as Gates Cambridge looks forward to its next quarter century.”
